The tradition handicraft box with lid as known as “Yun-It” from Bagan, the centre of lacquerware in Burma. Lacquerware was a popular gift before to foreign envoys given by members of the Burmese court. In daily life they use lacquer boxes for store jewels, store food, cosmetics, flowers, presenting food to monks in Buddhist ceremonies as well as betel nut ingredients, a mild intoxicant that is chewed as a quid.
